Chapter splitting is almost free

The timestamps are already in the transcript. Only the chapter list has to fetch anything, once. Twelve chapters don't cost twelve requests.

Every segment carries its own timestamp

An extracted sentence keeps its start and end. That's what lets you send a reader to the right spot, or check a quote against the source.

A video with no captions returns a reason

sous_titres_absents, and nothing else. The service doesn't do speech recognition and never fabricates text — it tells you it has nothing rather than hand you something fake.

SRT, VTT and cited verbatims come out with no extra call

The timestamped segments are already there: formats=srt,vtt reshapes them, nothing is fetched again. Each chapter and each verbatim carries its ?t= link that reopens the video at the quoted second. Verbatims are picked mechanically — length and position — never by a model.

What you read before importing

04What this service doesn't do

Only public videos whose captions already exist are served. Nothing is transcribed by speech recognition, and private or restricted videos are refused.
